Today begins my trip: 25 days in Europe! I’m sitting in a hotel room after what seems like the longest day EVER. Our first stop on our month long journey is LONDON! We landed in London and met the rest of our travel group at the hotel. Grads from A&M, University of Florida, University of Maryland, University of Maryland, RIce, & Baylor.

Upon reaching out hotel, Lauren (Doughty...my roommate for this trip & the most amazing girl ever!) and I decided it would be best to get some food and visit the ATM to get some Pounds. We ended up getting lunch and visiting the ATM with some guys from A&M, Baylor, and Rice. We ate at Ef’s deli. I ordered a really gross sandwich (Doughty ordered the same thing because it really sounded good on the menu) but couldn't eat it because it was SO disgusting. Because it was disgusting, David (from Rice) gave us some of his panini to make up for the sandwich that we couldn’t stomach.

We had our orientation meeting and then went to get fish and chips at The Swan, the oldest pub in London. (It wasn’t all that great (but london isn’t known for its food, so we’re cutting this city some slack). Lauren and I got a beer called "Stella". it was awful, but apparently it's the most popular beer in Britain? Our tour guide, and every other guy on this trip, told Doughty and I that we were crazy for not enjoying the Stella, but we thought they were all the ones that were crazy for thinking that it tasted good at all! oh well...it's just beer, right?! :P

After dinner, we went to The Dicken’s Tavern for beer and to begin our "Pub Crawl". In reality, our Pub Crawl was cut short because of the football championship match that was playing at the same time. Our Tour guide decided that the rest of the pubs in our area would be crowded during our scheduled "Pub Crawl" and that it would be better if we just went to one pub and got drinks.

We had a blast spending time getting to know our new trip-mates!! I'm SO excited for the days to come! :) Horray for Day number 1!!
